Can a DUI on your record that you keep a policeman?
My husband is currently in school for criminal justice and wants a policeman. In 2002 he drove home from the bar .. stopped at a red light .. and another drunk driver plowed right into him. The other driver was given a breathalizer and obviously not .. and the police officer gave my husband because he is a breathalizer under the circumstances and he was just over the border. He was charged with 4th degree DUI .. but it is a crime. If it helps to answer my question He was accused in Minnesota .. and we plan on moving to Wisconsin and he was a policeman there. He has something else on his record .. no traffic tickets or whatever. Does anyone know how strict or state when hiring police officers?
It depends on the place he goes. The more rural areas it is the flexibility of the Regulations shall (not jackbooted huge bureaucracy). In most large cities is likely to keep him off the track. He would talk to a lawyer about getting his record wiped out before you move, possibly an option. Good luck.
