ignition interlock problems
1988 Nissan truck V-6: In the past 21 / 2 years I had 3 Reman. starters in to start a no then?
I get an intermittent no start. The engine running and all I get is a click. The last time I wrote I put a list for them to check which includes: 1) for broken, loose or broken wire check in the beginning circuit. Check all cables and connectors on the battery, starter solenoid and igition switch (on steering column) 2) Check starter motor and pinion jammed in flywheel ring gear. 3) Bad starter solenoid 4) Bad starter 5) Bad ignition. They replace the remanufactured starter with another and I still get the intermittent no start. I went on the Internet and searched for people who had a similar problem when I found the same model and a bad interlock relay could cause the same to not start, so I went to a scrap yard and found a newer interlock relay and replaced only to find it was not a bad relay. What should I do if it differently this time I bring it in for them? They are ASE and trust them to spend 15 years
If you obtain a "click" in the engine compartment at times when you try to start the vehicle, the ignition, relay and magnet. If it is a constant problem with all the starters that you have installed, this would indicate that the ground wire not making contact. All vehicles have much reasons. Check the battery to the engine block GROUND. It runs from the battery to the frame of the engine block. All these connections should be clean and neat.
