Keeping Drunks off the Road - Auto Breathalizers (Ignition Interlock Devices)
One of the biggest problems in the United States these days drive under the influence, or DUI. Many people in the United States are injured or dies as a result of drunk drivers and DUI in the past people have their vote have been little more than a slap on the wrist. But in some states, that is changing, thanks to something like an ignition interlock device. This requires the person to blow into the device to their blood alcohol test before the car can be started.
Benefits of a blow pipe device:
• Fewer drunk drivers - Many countries which took place after the first offense. This means that it is the driver to think twice before they drink it.
• Safer roads - as many of the accidents on the road in relation to drink driving, there are fewer accidents and less road deaths and injuries caused by drunk drivers.
• Awareness and Responsibility - The people who earlier DUI convictions may be embarrassed by having to drive around with the device in the car, so maybe they go a testimony to other directors.
Disadvantages of ignition interlock devices:
• not infallible - A driver is able to have a passenger to blow into the device and trick the car into thinking that they are sober when they are not. Some managers decide to do this even if they get into a lot of problems behind.
• Inconvenient to others - if the car is repaired, the Body Shop maintain the car also needed to use the device before they are able to start, making it very difficult. Or the person who needs the oil changed, their car towed, or an inspection, the car must be started before any of those things can be done.
Perhaps with this invention, there are far more sober people on the road and fewer people whose hearts are broken, because they know that someone is injured or killed by a drunk driver. Maybe one of these days people are going to learn that drunk driving is simply not worth it. But until that happens, Perhaps the discomfort and inconvenience caused by these devices will make people think twice about that last beer.
