Make Up Air Industrial gas-fired units
Northern Industrial Co. has many types of industrial Make Up Air Units for large industrial plants ventilation needed has. An improvement in industrial plant environment can have significant benefits in terms of increased production, fewer errors, and a decrease in complaints and absenteeism among staff.
Air units for the Make-Up Air and Space Applications of pressure have the following characteristics:
- Outlet temperature is usually controlled with a probe mounted near the outlet of the device.
- Discharge air temperature set on the control panel or using a remote control station.
- Gas is input modulated "using a valve, actuator and controller.
Applications for space, a room thermostat is used to exhaust temperature. On a call for heat, the unit will provide air heated to the maximum temperature until the room thermostat is satisfied. Once you are satisfied, the unit, either off or it will continue to work at a reduced temperature exhaust.
An override option can also be provided. In this case, a thermostat is provided in addition on the base system. The device is set on-fire as the temperature gets too low.
Direct Spark units come with an ignition transformer for the igniter.
Booted units come with an electromagnetically operated valve automatic pilot and a small pressure regulator - approximately 20,000 BTUs - like an ignition transformer the pilot with electric igniter.
Pre-treatment of the system (by starting the blower for a certain time to a minimum volume change the air supply) before ignition of the main burner is not required by ANSI code, but is often given by the user. This must be provided when a building containing combustible dust or fumes potentially able to reach and collect within a direct fired unit while it is inactive.
To ensure safe operation of a direct heating gas system, a number of safety devices are often equipped with:
A. Damper Limit Switch - Dampers should be fully open before the unit will operate.
B. Air Proving Switch - Located near the outlet unit to the airflow to prove before lighting burner.
C. flame supervision - as discussed above. Closes Unit on loss of flame.
D. High Temperature Limit - Signals unit to supply gas when the temperature reaches maximum allowable reduction. If the air temperature exceeds limit, the device is switched off.
E. High gas pressure switch - Connects unit regulator to protect against spikes in the inlet gas pressure.
F. low gas pressure switch - Connects unit at low pressure at the inlet detected. Redundant safety device, because low flame unit would also close.
G. Safety valve - responds to various inputs mentioned above - Shut off gas supply itself.
Gas-fired Heating Air Systems is a class of equipment primarily used in industrial and commercial environments to ensure worker comfort. To a lesser extent, those systems are used to the air for process and finishing applications such as paint drying and curing equipment.
Direct fired units are pressure about 93% efficient, with much of the available energy in the combusted gas is delivered to the space in the form of heat. The supply airflow absorbs the heat that would normally be lost through a chimney or vent pipe as in indirect fired configuration.
